The conference is jointly hosted by the International Cognitive Analytic Therapy Association (ICATA) andthe Italian Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ITACAT)

“Exploring and Integrating Dialogues in CAT” aims at integrating and extending the knowledge of CAT, opening  a constructive dialogue with the several components of psychotherapy – cognitive, analytic, humanistic, philosophical and neurobiological – which are all integrated parts of inter-subjectivity.

We welcome those who are interested in learning more about CAT and to those who already are active.

Joining in the making of the Conference

There is considerable diversity in the way CAT is used across the world, and we strongly encourage you to be actively involved in this meeting. Our vision is for a conference that offers a rich multiplicity of presentations about CAT.  We welcome abstracts for the 8thICATA conference for oral presentations (usually 10-20 minutes), posters (to be displayed in the Conference Venue)  and symposia / workshops (up to 90 minutes).

Call for abstracts and proposals should be submitted to the conference committee  (icata2019(at) at the latest by February 28th. More information at

Travel and Accommodation

As June is high season in Ferrara, we highly recommend you to plan ahead and make reservation (see Accomodation on website) ASAP, within January 2019!

Ferrara is easily reached by from several cities:  Bologna(~50km) Venice(~120km) Milano(~300km)

The region is very nice for holiday activities, if you want to combine the conference with a family/friends-vacation: Opera in Verona(~100km), Lake Garda (~130km), Venice, wine-districts
